The hedge trimming experts at 0800 Tree Trim can help you with all your hedge pruning requirements.
When it comes to shaping hedges you have a number of options if your hedge has not become too over grown. Some people like a hedge that is trimmed to a box like shape – flat on top and straight sides. Other people like a hedge that retains more of a row of trees feel than an artificial box shape.
This hedge is an example of one where the owner specified that the hedge should retain some tree-like characteristics.

When a hedge has not been shaped and the trees have been allowed free reign to grow you have less options on how much trimming can occur. A row of full size tree in most cases can not be cut back to a hedge size and shape without killing the trees or at least looking very ugly. This can be a problem when the neighbours decide that your trees are causing them problems and you need to do something about them. In that circumstance removal is often the only option.
The following tree line on the fence was causing a lot of problems, both shading the house and damaging the neighbours spouting and roof. We had to cut the overhanging trees back to the fence and reduce them where possible, a couple of trees needed removing, but the owners of the trees wanted as many trees and as much of a screen left as possible. Most of the reduction happened on the back side over hanging the neighbours house.
